AA LUNCH CLUB Upcoming Speaker: October 31 \nDon Loftis\, COL (R)\, USA\, will be the speaker and will bring back the turmoil and uncertain ty during the late 60s and 70s. We faced the Draft\, tours in Vietnam\, ra cial strife\, a severe recession\, and an anti-war environment on our camp uses. Don’s military training as an Infantryman began as a draftee\, rolle d over into Infantry Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning (now Fort Mo ore)\, and never expected that it would lead to an assignment as an adviso r to the Army of Vietnam. Learning the art of advising and finding a niche in the combat organization of an Infantry battalion was completed just in time to be in the lead elements during the Cambodian Incursion. US Army t raining and the trust of senior officers allowed an Infantry Lieutenant to survive and contribute to a successful mission. \nThe impetus for this presentation was after other Veterans aske d … ”What did Advisors do?” \nPlease co me and contribute to our picture of America during wartime. \nWe’re hoping to get at least 20-25 participants!! \nTom Dawe\, rtdawe@comcast.net \nReminders: No r eservations needed\, and no need to call to say you are going to attend.
